2011年“微软学者”奖学金项目开始启动，此项奖学金面向入学6-18个月的低年级博士，奖金为6000美金，并提供去微软亚洲研究院参观和实习的机会。此项奖学金是面向全亚太设立的，每年三四十人获奖，由各高校推送，微软亚洲研究院组织专家评选并公布结果。

基本要求如下：

• The candidate must specialize in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Science, or Applied Mathematics;

· Wireless and networking

· Mobile and Sensing Systems

· System

· Natural language computing

· Speech

· Software Analytics

· Human-computer interaction
